Asterope Artist Sean Hurley recently sat down with Vertex Effects Founder Mason Marangella in an amazing interview discussing Sean’s musical experiences with John Mayer, Vertical Horizon and others. Sean not only plays some of his most iconic baselines but also describes the gear he uses to achieve his signature tone, including his preferred instruments, amps, pedals, strings and his Asterope cables. A big thanks to Sean for his continuing support and to Mason and the Vertex team for including us in such an enthusiastic and informative piece. A must watch for anyone wanting to hear one of the best bass players in the industry sharing his insights, inspirations and creative strategies both musically and sonically in the studio and on the stage.

Asterope is proud to be used as the cable of choice by Amphion for their U.S. product demos. The renown Finnish speaker manufacturer is widely known for its unique designs focused around the concepts of speaker directivity and waveguides. All Amphion loudspeakers carry waveguides. The approach has been fine tuned over the years with increasing focus being placed on creating wide and ‘even’ dispersion instead of increased directivity. The company demonstrated the remarkable performance capabilities of its new One25A pro monitors.
“Our philosophy of making loudspeakers has always been that we’re not satisfied until the listener forgets the gear and focuses only on the music. And here the goal is always to produce the sound that was present during the mastering process, nothing added, nothing removed.” Anssi Hyvönen - Amphion Founder & CEO

One of our core tenets as a company always has been to support artists and their work. Each of us here is either an artist or has close ties to the world of music, so helping artists is part of our company DNA. Since our inception, professional artists, producers and engineers have helped tell the story of Asterope and our products through what we call the “Asterope Artist Program.” This is an important aspect of understanding the company, so I thought it would be useful to describe a little about the program.
